2020 NFL Draft Fantasy Grades: AFC West

Writer's picture: Michael GrayMichael Gray

The 2020 NFL draft is finally completed. Some teams made some very relevant moves in terms of fantasy football. Some others left everyone scratching their head (Yes, we are talking about you, Green Bay Packers) as they did nothing to improve their own chances at winning. I will be giving a division by division breakdown of each team’s fantasy relevant draft picks and how it will impact them in the upcoming fantasy season.

Denver BroncosA-

Notable Draft Picks

WR Jerry Jeudy

WR K.J. Hamler

TE Albert Okwuegbunam

The Denver Broncos went all out offense in the draft and the fantasy world loves it. They drafted WR Jerry Jeudy out of Alabama, arguably the best WR in this draft, and K.J. Hamler from Penn State who is a burner and will stretch the field. To top it off, they drafted TE Albert O our of Missouri. He was teammates with QB Drew Lock at Missouri. He ran 4.49 at the combine and will pair nicely with Noah Fant. There is plenty of speed on this offense and a bunch of fantasy potential.

Kansas City ChiefsB

Notable Draft Picks

RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire

T Lucas Niang

When you are defending Super Bowl champs, you can afford to take the 1st RB off the board with you first round pick. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire put up a stellar year at LSU, and he will be the top drafted rookie RB in fantasy drafts come August. He is currently a high end RB2, with some upside

Las Vegas RaidersB-

Notable Draft Picks

WR Henry Ruggs III

WR Lynn Bowden

WR Bryan Edwards

Henry Ruggs III had the fastest 40-yard dash (4.27) at the combine. At that moment, I had no doubt that he would go off the board as the Raiders 1st draft pick. He is a talented WR, but I’m not sure about Derek Carr’s ability to get him the ball downfield and utilize his deep speed. Ruggs is an example WR4 in bestball formats.

Los Angeles Chargers B-

Notable Draft Picks

QB Justin Herbert

RB Joshua Kelley

The Charger’s were able to grab their QB of the future in Justin Herbert. He will start the season backing up Tyrod Taylor before eventually taking over, hurting Tyrod’s redraft value. RB Joshua Kelley will also hurt any chances of Justin Jackson being a sleeper pick.
