The 2020 NFL draft is finally completed. Some teams made some very relevant moves in terms of fantasy football. Some others left everyone scratching their head (Yes, we are talking about you, Green Bay Packers) as they did nothing to improve their own chances at winning. I will be giving a division by division breakdown of each team’s fantasy relevant draft picks and how it will impact them in the upcoming fantasy season.
Chicago Bears – C
Notable Draft Picks
TE Cole Kmet
The Bears drafted the top TE prospect in the draft, bringing the amount of TEs on their roster to 10. He is clearly the most talented one and will provide a terrific target for whoever ends up winning the QB battle between Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles.
Detroit Lions – B
Notable Draft Picks
RB D’Andre Swift
G Jonah Jackson
The Lions have been a pass-heavy team for a decade, but that may be changing given the choices made in this draft. They took D’Andre Swift with their 2nd round pick, highly skilled RB out of Georgia, signaling they may be ready to move on from Kerryon Johnson. They also drafted a pair of Guards in the later rounds, to bolster their offensive line.
Green Bay Packers – D-
Notable Draft Picks
QB Jordan Love
RB A.J. Dillon
The Packers drafting QB Jordan Love was by far the most perplexing pick of the first round in this draft. They then compounded that by drafted RB A.J. Dillon in the 2nd round, despite already having Aaron Jones and Jamal Williams on the roster. Outside of Davante Adams, they have no reliable pass catching weapons, but they refuse to draft one early. The only person more upset than me is Aaron Rodgers.
Minnesota Vikings – B
Notable Draft Picks
WR Justin Jefferson
T Ezra Cleveland
I love what the Vikings were able to pull off in this draft. They were able to draft WR Justin Jefferson with the pick they received from the Bills in exchange for Stefon Diggs. They were also able to grab a starting caliber offensive lineman in Ezra Cleveland to help strengthen the offensive line and the running game.Paired with the 2 young corners they acquired to replace Rhodes and Waynes, they are primed to take the division title back from the Packers.
