Julio Jones headed back to NFC South; Signs with Buccaneers

According to reports, WR Julio Jones has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This comes on the heals of The Bucs bringing in veteran TE Kyle Rudolph lasy week.

Fantasy Insight

I was able to grab a lot of shares of Julio Jones in bestball in rounds 18 or later, and it finally has a chance to pay off. was only a matter of time before the future Hall of Famer found a home in 2022, and there were very few better landing spots than in Tampa Bay. He will more than likely play outside opposite Mike Evans, and he will compete for secondary WR targets alongside Russell Gage.

2021 was basically a throw away year for Julio, but in 2020, he still flashed elite upside. He averaged 16.2 PPR PPG, while scoring 20+ in 33% of his games played that year. Once I update rankings for the Bucs, I anticipate Julio being a mid-level WR3 with obvious WR1 upside every week. Tom Brady becomes a more solid top 8 -10 QB with the addition, and Mike Evans remains a top 7 WR. Russel Gage loses a bit of his luster with the signing of Julio, and I will slide down a tier. I also remain very skeptical of Chris Godwin's early season availability even though he was cleared for camp.

As for the TEs, I still favor Cameron Brate slightly over Kyle Rudolph in fantasy, as Rudolph will be more of a blocker, and Brate has more of a rapport with Brady at this time. Both are Low end TE2s for the time being.
