Tyreek Hill Taking His Talents to South Beach: Cheetah Headed to Miami

The 2022 NFL Off-season continues to drop bombshell trades seemingly every other day. According to reports, in a trade that came virtual out of nowhere, Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro WR Tyreek Hill has been traded to the Miami Dolphins for 5 drafts picks in total, including 3 picks in the upcoming 2022 draft.

Fantasy Insight

On the Miami Dolphins side, Tua Tagovailoa is the biggest winner in this deal. On top of signing the best offensive lineman in free agency, he now gets arguably the most dynamic WR in the league to throw the ball to. My initial thoughts are that Tua joins a group of about 7 guys who will be ranked in low end QB1/high end QB2 range that also have weekly top 3 QB upside. Tyreek Hill takes a slight dip down to a low end WR1. Jaylen Waddle also takes a slight dip in value, now becoming a mid-low level WR2. It remains to be seen how Mike McDaniel will run his offense, but I can't wait to find out how all these new weapons will be used.

In terms of the Kansas City Chiefs, newly signed WR Juju Smith-Schuster is my biggest winner. He will presumably take over the #1 WR role, and he will get all the targets he can handle in the pass heavy Kansas City offense. He projects as a mid-to low end WR2 for the time being, and I can see him having a much higher ADP than that come draft season. Travis Kelce becomes even more solidified as the TE1 overall he has been for the past half-decade. Patrick Mahomes takes a small dip in value, going from my QB1 to around QB4-ish. Mecole Hardman will also see a huge spike in draft value, given that has a similar skillset to Tyreek Hill, but I will take a wait-and-see approach with him.
