Week 2 Waiver Wire Report

Week 2 is finally over! None of those points will carry over to week 3, so it’s time to find the guys who will score you points in week 3. These are my favorite players to target.

(Based on players who are owned in 67% or less of Yahoo fantasy leagues)

QB

Jameis Winston (62%) – TB vs Giants

Jameis looked much better in week 2 vs the Panthers than in week 1. Throwing for 240 yards, 1 TD, and more importantly, no turnovers. He gets the Giants this week, so expect even more of a bounce back in week 3.

Josh Allen (40%) – BUF vs Bengals

Josh Allen has been very solid the first two weeks of the season, thanks to his rushing ability, along with playing terrible defenses. Those trends will continue as the Bills get Cincinnati in week 3, who were just shredded by Garoppolo.

Jimmy Garoppolo (49%) – SF vs Steelers

Garoppolo finally played like his contract suggests in week 2 vs the Bengals, throwing for 297 yards and 3 TDs. He gets the Steelers at home in week 3, who are coming off losing to their franchise QB for the year. Steelers struggle mightky when traveling to the west coast. This game will be more of the same.

RB

Darwin Thompson (18%) – KC vs Ravens

Both Lesean McCoy and Damien Williams suffered knee injuries in their week 2 victory, so Darwin is the next man up. The Chiefs starting RB is always a valuable fantasy asset. If Darwin gets the start, he should get the majority of the workload, and be a free square in DFS.

Frank Gore (8%) – BUF vs Bengals

The Bengals gave up over 250 yards rushing to the 49ers in week 2. With Devin Singletary’s availability in question after tweaking his hamstring, Gore could be in line for another 25-touch week with a chance to score. He makes for a solid flex play in non-PPR.

Jaylen Samuels (35%) – PIT vs 49ers

James Conner got banged up in the loss to the Seahawks, and could miss week 3. Jaylen filled in admirably last season when Conner was injured. Even if you aren’t the Conner owner, punish the Conner owner for not having his handcuff, and get a solid PPR flex if Conner misses time.

WR

Demarcus Robinson (7%) - KC vs Ravens

Anyone who catches passes from Pat Mahomes is a valuable fantasy asset, and can explode for 150+ yards in any given game. Robinson, the former Florida Gator, was the latest WR to benefit, going for 6/6/172/2 vs the Raiders. He will make for the perfect flex play in all formats.

Randall Cobb (24%) - DAL vs Miami

With Michael Gallup out 2-4 with a meniscus trim, there are targets to be hid for the remaining WRs. Although Randall Cobb won’t fill in for Gallup, he stands to get a bump in targets while Gallup is out. Dallas gets the Dolphins in week 3, and they just traded away their best defender to Pittsburgh, so expect solid WR3 production for Cobb.

James Washington (29%) – PIT vs 49ers

Donte Moncrief all but sealed his fate with his performance the first two weeks. Mason Rudolph was teammates with James Washington, as both played for Oklahoma State, so the rapport is there. Expect him to take over as the #2 WR for the Steelers going forward, making him a solid Flex in PPR leagues.

TE

Will Dissly (3%) - SEA vs Saints

Dissly scored 2 TDs vs the Steelers in week 2, which was great after he was hampered by a knee injury. This may be chasing a fool’s gold, but all but 5 TEs are reliant on scoring a TD. Might as well get one who has a great QB throwing to him.

Greg Olsen (63%) – CAR vs Cardinals

The Cardinals have been torched by TEs so far this year. They gave up over 100 yards and a score to both T.J. Hockenson and Mark Andrews. Greg Olsen should be well rested since playing last Thursday, so he makes for a solid low end TE1 in this matchup.

D/ST

Green Bay (17%) – vs Broncos

Packers get the Broncos at home in week 3. They played great in the first two weeks, and now they get to face Joe “elite” Flacco. They are a solid streamer for owners whose primary D/ST has a subpar matchup in week 3.

Tennessee (35%) – vs Jaguars

The Titans defense has looked surprisingly good to start the season. In week 3, they get to face the lowly Jaguars offense on a short week. This is a great matchup for them, it what looks to be a low scoring, divisional matchup against a rookie QB.
